As the school summer holidays are upon us, we will take a break from our sessions in Foakes Hall and use the time to visit some local areas and put some of the teaching into practice. The first of these will take place on Monday 28 July between 1pm and 3pm at Adam Huttes House, Bacon End, CM6 1JW, What3words: flexibility.texted.kingdom (please enter through the green gate). This is a garden, where there will be flowers and views. Should it decide to rain, then we are welcome inside the house to work, so don't let the weather put you off. For these sessions, please bring your materials, whatever medium you wish to work in and a seat, plus hat, etc according to the weather. If you need transport, let us know and we will arrange pick up.

On Monday it will be our fourth and final week with Leon Barnes using Oils. (3 hours) Monday 21st July 3 hour class - 12pm - 3pm Foakes Hall, Dunmow, CM6 1DG As always, please don't forget to bring along your own mug for a cuppa! ☕️ Leon has provided the following details for Monday's class: Colour list .. Windsor & Newton or bob ross landscape paint or any thick oil paint ! Next week at Dunmow Art Group will be our last session with Leon Barnes using oils. Your homework is to prepare your canvas (example below) with black acrylic paint. Let this dry and then add masking tape across the middle and paint in the trees, remembering to mirror image each one, again using acrylics. To create the lines on the trees, flick black acrylic and scrape horizontally across the trees. We will then be using oils in the session to finish this painting off. The session will be from 12pm to 3pm in Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow. (£1 for members and £5 for non members) List of equipment to follow 🎨

We are now one of the three groups you can vote for when you shop in store. Voting for Dunmow Art Group began on the 1st July and runs all the way through to the 30th September. On Monday 30th June, Leon Barnes will be joining Dunmow Art Group to teach us how to use oils. The classes with Leon run for a total of 4 weeks. Please note that all 4 weeks will be 3 hour sessions between 12pm and 3pm and will be held in Foakes Hall, Dunmow, CM6 1DG. Week 3 Lino Printing
Our third week of lino printing with Eleanor Mullinder from Wee Bothy Art. Still refining some lino cuts, making more and moving on to making some prints with some frustration and some elation. Whilst others are doing their own splendid things.
